WHAT:      DAD’S DAY IN PRE- K (DDPK) 2018: “Celebrating Our Dads & Male Role Models as They Invest in their Child’s Education.”

WHEN:      Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 8:30am- 3pm

WHERE: Northwest Activities Center, 18100 Meyers Rd., Detroit, MI 48221

Detroit Public Schools Community District Early Childhood Education Department will host its 2nd annual DAD’s DAY IN PRE-K (DDPK) 2018 on Thursday, April 19, 2018, from 8:30 am- 2:00 pm at the Northwest Activities Center located at 18100 Meyers Rd., Detroit, MI 48221.

The all-day free male parent conference/ workshop is designed to provide supportive information and resources to male participants using speakers, networking, and educational materials to encourage male parental involvement beginning in Pre- School. Topics covered in this free event will include but are not limited to: Dads Volunteering in the Classroom, What Fortune 500 Companies look for in Employees, Fathers Leading by Example, Father’s Rights & Responsibilities, Career Pathways, Daddy’s Home! Raising Stronger Families, What Happened to the Community Father?Understanding the Friend of the Court system, Panel discussion on how to Develop a Positive Relationship with Law Enforcement, Education and Housing resource information for city residents.

An estimated 300 fathers and male role models from across the Detroit Metropolitan area are expected to attend.  All participants will receive free t-shirts, “SWAG” bags, lunch, prizes, and give-a-ways. The event is free however registration is required.
