Get to Know our SI Leaders

Who are the SI Leaders this Spring/Summer?

These four women have successfully taken the courses they support, currently sit-in on lecture, and plan collaborative sessions where students can learn and study together. They also work together every other week to share ideas about what makes SI sessions effective. We’d like you to get to know them better. Of course we think they’re pretty awesome and we’re confident you will too. SI is currently supporting CHM 1240, NUR 2030, BIO 1500, BIO 1510, and BIO 2200. See the schedule:

Hi! My name is Wan Wang and I am a pre-med student current majoring in psychology and double minoring in biological sciences and Asian Studies. I love cooking, reading, free writing, and quick sketches of still life. But I love binge watching TV shows just as much!

Hi my name is Marwa Abdel-maguid. I am an SI leader for Orgo 1, as well as a tutor for the Academic Success Center. I have been working with the ASC for 3-soon-to-be-4-semesters now. I am an upcoming senior pursuing a biochemistry degree with a focus to become a pediatrician.

Hi! My name is Nicole Utterbeck. I am an SI leader for NUR 2030 and for BIO 2200. I am a nursing major going into my second year in the program. I love to work with kids, so I can’t wait for the pediatrics clinical! I love Disney, and in my spare time I like to watch movies, travel, and cuddle with my cat. I have just started watching Game of Thrones. I am only in season two, so no spoilers!

Hello! My name is Hanan Rakine and I am the SI leader for Biology 1510! I am currently a sophomore at WSU pursing a major in Honors Biology with a minor in NFS with hopes to become an excellent practicing physician. I have strong passion/love for medicine (it’s quite insane actually) so most of what I do revolves around just that.. helping others! I love working with people and truly want to make a difference. When I’m not at the library or working late night shifts at the hospital, you could find me playing tennis, running, or watching Grey’s Anatomy.
