Warrior Weekend – Valentine’s Day!
The week is over and the weekend is here! Bundle up and enjoy whatever this Michigan weather has to throw at us!
Right in Campus Martius Park, this year’s annual Winter Blast is here all weekend and will feature indoor and outdoor activities! There will be many things to do such as zip-lining and taking a ride down a giant snowslide! There will also be music, food, and exhibitions. Check out the website for concert lineups and event schedules! On Saturday, there will be FREE shuttles from WSU to this event – see here for more information.
It’s Black History Month, so get out and enjoy one of the many cultural events happening in Detroit. Sangana African Dance Company is holding an African Bazaar that features the dance and drum concert Stories of our Ancestors. There will be art work, african clothes, jewelry, a raffle, a presentation by African 2400 DNC class, and African food! This event is FREE and is taking place on campus!
Raising money to cure a nasty genetic disorder not enough for you? OK, how about a one mile-ish run in your underwear in the middle of February. This Saturday, for those of you 21+, feel free to leave your house (or apartment) for an exceptionally chilly run through downtown Detroit! There is a registration fee to attend (benefitting a great cause) and more information can be found here!
It’s both Black History Month and Valentine’s Day weekend – get out in Detroit and enjoy it!
