Warrior Weekend – Dlectricity is Back!

Happy Friday y’all! There are some BIG things happening in the D this weekend that you don’t wanna miss out on!

Friday, Sept 26 & Saturday, Sept 27 – 7:00pm-Midnight

If you haven’t heard everyone raving about Dlectricity, then now’s your turn. Dlectricity is an art and light festival in Midtown, Detroit that started in 2012 and happens every other year (so this is second time!). Unlike many festivals, this one is unique and has gained worldwide attention! Over 35 art/light installations will be placed all around Midtown, creating a walkable and FREE event for all ages. Midtown will be LIT UP with amazing images and arts, attracting thousands each night. Speaking of, each night will have the same installations, except Saturday will have a light bike parade, so deck out your ride in some cool lights and be apart of that! You can check out more about the event at! I also recommend scoping or printing out the map beforehand!

Whateverfest 4

Saturday, Sept 27 12:00pm-2:00am

Don’t whatever Whateverfest. It’s the fourth year that this local music festival has showcased some of Detroit’s best! With over 20 acts, the festival will be a full day of good vibes, yummy food, and unique vendors! Entry is FREE before 3pm, then goes up to $3. Check out the list of performers, vendors, and other details on the event page!

BUILD Bazaar

Sunday, September 28 10:00am-4:00pm

BUILD Bazaar is Detroit’s cool pop-up marketplace. Every Sunday the Bazaar chooses a new location in the city and invites it’s many vendors to come out and sell their unique crafty goods. The vendors range from foodies, artisans, jewelers, to many more! Definitely worth coming out on your lazy Sunday Funday to peruse the Bazaar! Check out the Facebook event here!

September Dinner Roll

Sunday, September 28 – 2:30pm
Back Alley Bikes, 3611 Cass Ave, Detroit, MI 48201

This one’s for the vegetarians and vegans (not to discourage any meat lovers, you’re still invited!)! Also, if you missed/liked the Tour de Troit or Detroit Restaurant Week, this is the perfect mix for you! Back Alley Bikes is hosting a cool fundraiser this weekend. For $35 you and many others will be taking a 4 hour bike ride around the city, with stops at various vegetarian and vegan friendly restaurants. You can check out the event and purchase tickets here!

There is also a Block Party in West Village to celebrate the new and existing businesses there! In the same neighborhood there will be a biergarten as part of the Detroit Design Festival. So much to do!
