Project 4/Constrained Systems

Project 4, Constrained Systems. Design and apply a letter form system. Use only one basic shape, circle or square. Design only the glyphs necessary to complete two words. Design of letter forms are to express the connotations you will be developing. Select one noun and one adjective from this list. Clearly, these words are complex. You will not be able to capture every nuance implied by the combination. Rather, seek to communicate some part, an aspect of integrated significance. I chose to work with circles and my process was very simple. first I worked with deciding what what words best describe my the two words i chose and then i searched for images that best portrayed the meaning of the two words. i then came with modulars using the circle shapes to ireterate the meaning of the words once again, but using shapes of course.

Well organized with all your modules. Your letters come together well with your three forms of modules. Good job on this project!!

This was probably one of my favorite projects! Good job on the modules and the images to convey your message of splatter and energetic movement. I’m fond of your choice to use the wolf to describe something energetic. Also your splatter image is straight to the point! Well done!

The addition of the somewhat transparent background made from the letterforms was unexpected while adding a texture to the entire piece that really stood out! The play with figure/ground in the composition was different than anything I’ve yet to see involving this project. Very nice.
