Review of Fall 2011
As the first day of class approaches for the new semester I am glad to be heading back to campus. As I anticipate new classes I couldn’t help but to reflect on the previous semester. Fall 2011 has got to go down as one of my favorite periods in my college career thus far. It was fun, exciting and made me proud to be a Wayne State Warrior.
I was more involved throughout campus, got a chance to develop great friendships, did well in classes, went out of state for a weekend (yeah I know Ohio isn’t far, but it still counts) and almost officially became a member of a fraternity (long story). But enough about me; let’s talk about what took place on campus!
Interesting/fun events for each month (August-December):
New Student Days, Festi-fall
The comedy Jam during Homecoming week [D.L Hugley’s performance was hilarious!]
Casino Night at the Detroit Historical Museum
MTVU Campus Invasion [at the Majestic]
Halloween dance [hosted by the hall councils of the resident halls in the Student Center ballroom]
Far East Movement concert [at the Majestic. Oh and it was free]
Men’s Basketball home opener vs. Bellarmine University
Atchison Hall Thaw Penny War [$250 was raised]
2nd Annual Culture Shock Stroll Competition
Division II Championship Game viewing party
Highlights of the semester:
Thursdays in the D
(There was a cool event to look forward to every Thursday)
Football team’s incredible run to the Division II National Championship Game!
(The Warriors didn’t win the game, but we appreciate the drive, passion, and energy nonetheless!)

Here’s hoping that the upcoming semester can bring about more fun and great memories around campus!
