DISTRICT – PERMANENT SUBSTITUTE TEACHER DESCRIPTION: Lakeview Public Schools is currently accepting applications for a permanent substitute teacher for the 2018-2019 school year. This position will cover grades K-12 (Ardmore, Greenwood, Harmon & Princeton Elementary Schools; Jefferson Middle School, Lakeview High School and the Wheat Educational Campus). Assignment will last through the end of the 2018-2019 school year.  

JOB SUMMARY: The permanent substitute teacher will work on all regularly scheduled student days to cover classrooms at all levels. The assignments will vary from day-to-day and may include long-term assignments, based upon certifications/endorsements. It is the expectation that permanent substitute teachers will be available to work on all student days, with the exception of personal illness or prearranged absences.

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate (Required) Ability to successfully pass a state and federal background check. (Required) 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: This is a one year only position and will end at the end of this school year. Permanent substitutes are expected to report to work every day students are in session. The substitute will be guaranteed a teaching assignment each day that students are in session and must be willing to work in the pre-school, elementary, middle and high schools and cover all grades and subjects. On the rare occasion that there is no need for classroom coverage, the permanent substitute will report to the Human Resources Office, where an assignment will be provided. The permanent substitute teacher will be paid at the long term substitute rate per day. Permanent substitute teachers hired by the District will receive single subscriber health care and prescription, vision and dental coverage. Assignments will be made through the district’s substitute coordinator via a phone call each morning.
