Ennis Center for Children – Tutoring Opportunity

Ennis Center for Children has received funding to implement a Saturday tutoring program for youth 10 to 18 years of age.  The program will be based in our Detroit office located at 20100 Greenfield Road, Detroit 48235.  The office is south of the Lodge between 7 and 8 Mile Road. Lead Teacher:

Teacher to lead and structure tutoring programs for all at risk children and children with encounters with the court systems. The tutor will coordinate the schedule for the children attending and work with the assistant teachers as to programming and scheduling. The lead teacher will ensure that the children are receiving services in the subject areas needed, not limited to math, science, literature, writing, and social studies. Children will range from ages 10-18. Qualified applicant must have a teaching certificate and a bachelors degree in education.  Hours Sat 9-3. This is a contract position and will pay $30/hr

Assistant Teacher:

Qualified individual to provide educational tutoring services to at-risk children and children with encounters with the court systems. The tutor will provide direct tutoring to up to three children at a time. The subject areas will include math, science, literature, writing, and social studies. Children will range from ages 10-18. Qualified individuals must have a minimum of an associate’s degree and some experience in the education field.  Hours: Sat 9-3.  This is a contract position and will pay $20/hr
