Mercy High School Employment Opportunity: Long-term Substitute

Mercy High School in Farmington Hills has need for a full-time, long-term substitute position of a highly qualified English teacher. Candidates holding State of Michigan certification in secondary English instruction, and possessing the ability to teach various levels of English for students in grades 9-12 are welcome to apply.

Coverage is needed from mid-September through late December to teach English courses for students in grades 9-12. Mercy is an Apple Distinguished school, so the preferred candidate will have the ability to support lessons through effective use of technology tools.


All teachers in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and /or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach.

The selected candidate must hold a BA Michigan certification, attend the Protecting God’s Children workshop, and complete a background check with fingerprints.
