City of Detroit Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs – Program Coordinators
The City of Detroit Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs was awarded two one-year Americorps VISTA positions as part of the Building Welcoming Community Corps. This pilot program is being overseen by Public Allies, Welcoming America, and the Corporation for National Service. The City of Detroit’s application reflects a partnership between the City and Global Detroit. In fact, the two positions will be shared by the City and Global Detroit to help us both better connect immigrant residents in Detroit to home-ownership, entrepreneurship, and other asset-building and community development opportunities.
While we have gotten some great applications, we really need bilingual applicants in Spanish and Arabic. The jobs come with health care and an educational stipend and pay normal Americorps VISTA wages.
The positions would start February 27th with a national on-boarding training in Los Angeles.
Applicants a deadline of Monday, February 6 to apply.
