My name is Lucas Bell, and I am a Dean’s Delegate for the College of Fine, Performing, and Communication Arts here at Wayne State University. I am a journalism major with a passion for all things cars. I would say that I am car crazy, but I don’t think that description quite cuts it. I hope to pursue a career in automotive journalism here in the Metro Detroit area once I finish school. I wanted to host a website dedicated to sharing how Wayne State and the city of Detroit have shaped my life over the past few years. I figure that this is as good of a place as any to talk about the truly wonderful things that can be experienced in this unique community. I grew up in Dexter, Michigan about an hour outside of Detroit. It is a small farm town, and I grew up living separate from a lot of other cultures. When I first visited Wayne State as a sophomore in high school, I remember thinking how crazy it was that there was so much diversity! Before coming here, I could count on two hands the number of kids I went to school with who did not look like me, much the less who spoke a different language than I do. Living in Midtown has been one of the greatest experiences that I have ever had, and I plan on sharing those experiences here.
