The Black Student Union was established for the educational, social, political, cultural and economic growth of students of African descent.

The Wayne State Chapter of Black Student Union is committed to the belief that excellence in academic and social life is a necessary precondition for building and sustaining great communities. Determined to eradicate educational inequalities that have inhibited the progress of students, especially African American students. Convinced that it will take the collective efforts to advance and expand educational opportunities for all minority students, especially African Americans. Prepared to make initiatives to build the leadership capacity of students.

We strive to be as present and active as possible, socially and academically and in our community.
