Data sharing policy now in effect at PLOS journals

In 2014, all journals published by the Public Library of Science (PLOS), including PLOS Biology, PLOS Medicine, and PLOS ONE, implemented a new data sharing policy, which requires thatĀ authors make the data underlying their article publicly available without restriction immediately upon publication. The goal of this policy is to permit the validation and replication of results and to allow the re-use or re-purposing of data, thereby increasing the transparency of research and facilitating scientific progress.
