Midrange Server Development Program (Pontiac, Michigan)
HP’s Midrange Server Development Program recruits and trains next generation technical and business professionals within IT outsourcing services. This is a unique opportunity for both HP and the newly-hired, as it creates a group of peers who work together to learn the HP Way and introduce the new hire into the corporate environment!

The Midrange Server Development Program, located in Pontiac, Michigan, takes participants through different functional areas of the server management business over the course of two years, while offering technical certification training and dozens of opportunities for participants to meet leaders and engage with their peers.

Desired candidates must be completing (or have completed) minimum a bachelor’s degree with a focus on any of the following: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Information Technology. Candidates must have an excellent GPA with top recommendations from professors and/or internships; they must also have a (maximum) one year window from graduation.

Description

GBU TCEQ Growth Countries Senior Program Manager needs to have in-depth knowledge of drivers of customer intervention across the entire value chain, with solid credibility within the technical community. Be recognized authority in both project management as well as Six Sigma methodology.

 

Drive innovative thinking by defining and introducing new concepts/methodology that will enable rapid detection of field quality issues as well as the ability to manage all aspects of achieving a complex goal including but not limited to root cause analysis (technical expertise), stakeholder buy-in (influencing skill), construction of multi-variable project plan (project management), and with great track record of delivering results.

 

Full ownership of Growth Country intervention reduction plan with little to no supervision. Frequently exercise independent judgement on gap analysis and establishing recovery plan in the case of unexpected delay.  Constantly evaluate the effectiveness of existing strategy to drive improvements that are necessary to achieve goal.

 

Subject matter expert on intervention reduction initiatives and to provide guidance to team members within or outside of same team on best practices related to intervention reduction programs by leading cross-functional initiatives that has direct impact to HP’s growth opportunities.

 

Coach other employees on project management, influencing skill, as well as executive communication to enable them to successful in a similar work by exhibiting HP Leadership Attributes and associated behaviors: Always Accountable, Will to Win, Passion for Customers, Highly Capable & Innovative, and People & Team Developer

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Quality Management, Business Management, Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent.
  • Project management certification such as PMP/PMI certification preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma or other Quality certification preferred.
  • Solid technical background on PC troubleshooting, design, and manufacturing.
  • Typically 10+ years experience.

Knowledge and Skills:

 

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated business acumen, understanding of organizational strategy, and successful experience managing all aspects of cross-business unit programs, including communicating with internal and external stakeholders and directing matrixed teams and resources.
  • In depth knowledge of all drivers that make up AIR (annualized intervention rate)
  • Proven ability to lead virtual teams to achieve results, exercise independent judgment and handle unique situations to accomplish goals in tight time frames
  • Proven ability to continue forward momentum when the goals, processes, and key stakeholders are not known and the information is evolving
  • Proven ability to create processes to track and measure progress and goals for predictability and the ability to react to the current situation.
  • Proven ability to identify gaps, evangelize and drive teams to create an action plan to get back on track
  • Proven ability to coach employees to understand the cascading objectives, the sense of urgency and guide them using project management and analytical skills to achieve successful outcomes. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.
  • Ability to effectively communicate program management architectures, reductions plans, line of sight projections, and results to all key stakeholders and sponsores
