WSU Part-Time (on-campus): Academic Tutor

Job Description

             Up to 20 hours/week, Tuesdays (4pm-6pm), Thursdays (4pm-6pm) & Saturdays (9am-1pm)

Tutor high school students, individually or in groups, in the academic subjects:

·  English

·  Math ( Algebra I & II, Geometry & Pre-Calculus)

·  Science (Biology, Chemistry & Physics) and

·  Language (French & Spanish).

Manage, organize and control their study center room/area. Responsible for students’ attitudes, behaviors, focus and productivity. Responsible for initiating contact, following upand maintaining daily written tutorial logs of students. Must report any disruptions, disturbances, organize required parent conferences/call to Instructional Coordinator. Must notify the Counselors of students’ grades of grades of “C” or below in academic subjects. Other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

Upper division or graduate level student preferred. Full Academic Year commitment preferred. Excellent tutorial skills a must! Must have excellent oral and written communication & interpersonal skills, record keeping and supervisory skills. Knowledge of computers & software. Attention to detail. Be assertive, energetic, sociable, punctual and dependable.
