SSW students have opportunity to compete for $3000.00 scholarship

The Elizabeth N. Brehler Manuscript Competition 2012-2013 Kick Off will be held on
Thursday, November 1, 2012, from 12:00 noon – 1:30 p.m., in room 150 Thompson Home.
The Elizabeth N. Brehler Scholars Program, established in 1991 by Richard Brehler in memory of his wife, is an annual manuscript competition that gives BSW, MSW and PhD students (both full and part time) the opportunity to produce a scholarly work. The primary goal of the program is to encourage students to explore their personal and professional values, and difficulties they have experienced applying those values in social work practice.
Come, bring your lunch and learn how to participate in this scholars’ program. Previous winners will be present and speak about their experience participating in this writing competition. Light refreshments provided. All participants who work with faculty mentors and submit manuscripts meeting the minimum criteria will receive a certificate of participation as well as a gift certificate to the Wayne State University Bookstore. For further questions, please contact Julie Alter-Kay at (313) 577-4464 or e-mail at ae8440@wayne.edu
