School of Social Work Graduate to Speak at Commencement
Commencement is Saturday, December 8, 2012. Congratulations to all graduating social work students! Claudia Jean-Pierre is graduating with a master’s in social work from the School of Social Work and will be speaking at the commencement ceremony.
Claudia is a part-time MSW student working full-time in the social work field. As demonstrated by her high 3.99 GPA, she has an outstanding record of achievement. Despite her very busy schedule, she volunteers at the student run Diabetes Education Wellness (DEW) clinic in Highland Park. She also serves as co-president of the Wayne State International Social Work Organization, is secretary of the WSU Greater Detroit Association of Black Social Workers student chapter and is a member of the Phi Alpha Honor Society. I have had the pleasure of volunteering with her at the DEW clinic and found her to be most intelligent, articulate, engaging and committed to the social work profession. I have no doubt she will do an excellent job at delivering a speech at the ceremony.
Welcome graduates to the profession!
